Sensational triple win for Stiefelhagen at the Norisring
The NXT Gen Cup provided thrilling one-make cup action at Germany’s street circuit, the Norisring, delighting the numerous spectators in the stands. Dutch driver Lukas Stiefelhagen was particularly prominent, turning the great performance of his Hankook tyres into an impressive hat-trick of wins. Stiefelhagen won the first race on Saturday by 0.261 seconds and repeated this success in race two. On Sunday, he moved into the lead on lap five, pulling past Austria’s Philipp Dietrich to crown a perfect event. The consistent grip level of the Hankook tyres provided confidence through every corner and enabled him to mount some precise overtaking manoeuvres. The 18-year-old scored a total of ninety points to extend his championship lead. The next event in the fully-electric feeder series will take place from 8th to 10th August, as the youngsters head to the historic Nürburgring circuit in Germany.
