Neu-Isenburg, Germany, 7th August 2023 – The first season for Hankook as official technical partner and tyre supplier of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship ended with great acclaim and a fantastic award. At the official Season 9 Awards Gala, which followed the season finale at the 2023 Hankook London E-Prix, the exclusive tyre supplier was presented with the award for the best fan experience. This allowed FIA and Formula E officials to acknowledge Hankook’s presence in the racing series’ Allianz Fan Village. With fascinating interactive elements and interesting background information on the company, tyre and involvement in Formula E, Hankook welcomed thousands of fans to its exhibition area at numerous races all over the world. The topic of sustainability, in particular, attracted a lot of interest from visitors.

Hankook Communications Director Felix Kinzer, who joined Manfred Sandbichler (Hankook Motorsport Director), Filip Pawelka (Senior Marketing Manager) and Christian Büttner (Hankook Event and Exhibition) on the stage in London to receive the prize, said: “This is a really magnificent award, which we are delighted to receive, and for which we would like to thank those responsible in Formula E. In our first season in Formula E, everyone in the team has done a fantastic job to encourage fans to be more sustainable. Whether our motorsport department with its engineers and tyre service for the teams, marketing or communications – everyone worked hand in hand to achieve this great result. We have also received very positive feedback from the racing teams and drivers on our premium product, the Hankook iON Race, which has impressed all along the line in terms of performance, energy efficiency and sustainability, and has performed all season in diverse conditions.”

After a short break, the Hankook Formula E team returns to action in September with the next tests. All the teams will then assemble in the Spanish city of Valencia at the end of October for the official pre-season test, which serves as the dress rehearsal ahead of the season-opener in Mexico City on 13th January 2024.
